A couple of weeks ago, I spoke about the witch wound. And today’s episode naturally expands on that theme, because the title of this podcast is Why History Repeats Itself.
Years ago, my ex-husband used to say something that stuck with me. He was a big history buff, and he’d often say, “History repeats itself if you don’t remember it.” It was his way of telling me I should study history—something I had very little interest in at the time, at least the way it was taught in school. And honestly, I resisted all those “shoulds” back then.
What’s ironic is that now, I’m completely fascinated by history—but not the version we were taught.
I’m deeply interested in the history that was hidden, the history that was deliberately left out of textbooks. I’ve been reading about the Burning Times—the systematic persecution and execution of primarily women—and the parallels to what we’re seeing in the world today are striking. These events weren’t random. They were deeply tied to social control, land ownership, privatization, and yes… money.
History has a way of repeating itself, not in a linear way, but fractally.
Greg Braden—one of my favorite spiritual teachers—talks about this beautifully. He even created a fractal calculator that allows you to look at significant or traumatic events in your life and see when similar energetic patterns may repeat. If an experience isn’t resolved or brought into consciousness, it has a tendency to show up again—at different ages, in different forms, but carrying the same energetic signature.
Why does this happen?
Because each repetition is an opportunity—for healing, for awareness, and for making a different choice.
This doesn’t just apply to personal trauma. It applies collectively. When you look at major global events—assassinations, wars, catastrophic losses—you can see how humanity often misses these opportunities, allowing the same underlying patterns to re-emerge.
As I’ve studied the Burning Times, I’ve also revisited ancient knowledge that was suppressed—advanced healing systems, the true understanding of human energy, even the fact that there are thirteen chakras, not seven. Entire systems of wisdom were hidden because they threatened power structures.
The same is true for religious texts. What we call “the Bible” was a carefully curated political document. Certain texts were included. Others—particularly those honoring the feminine or offering a more expansive spiritual view—were excluded. And even today, these missing teachings are rarely acknowledged in formal education.
Medicine is no different.
Many of you may have heard the saying that by the time medical textbooks are published, they’re already outdated. We’re still teaching concepts like survival of the fittest as if competition is the fundamental law of nature—when in fact, biology shows us over and over again that collaboration, not competition, is what sustains life.
Bruce Lipton demonstrated this decades ago. His work in epigenetics proved that genes are not destiny. DNA is a blueprint—but it’s the environment that determines how that blueprint is expressed. Identical stem cells placed in different environments will develop into completely different tissues. Same DNA. Different outcomes.
And yet, most people still believe they’re victims of genetics, aging, or inevitability.
This is why history repeats itself.
When trauma—personal or collective—is not healed, when truth is suppressed, when consciousness is avoided, the same patterns return in new forms.
The good news is this: more people are waking up.
Not everyone will. And that’s okay. Some souls are here simply to play a role in the larger awakening. But if you’re listening to this, chances are you’re here to remember. You’re here to question. You’re here to help ensure that humanity does not continue repeating unnecessary cycles of trauma and violence.
History does not have to repeat itself.
But healing does require awareness.
